A Counterfit??? July 1, 2009 Noticed after we received Harry Potter and deathly hallows. It had 130 pages missing from the printing. How could this be?
Have the series June 30, 2009 I love this series, even though the last chapter is lacking, anti climatic, and a bit of a let down after allll that work. It's like she had a brain fart at the end and it made it into the book. oh well can't have everything. Still worth the price, and the read.
Harry Potter Book June 27, 2009 This was bought for my 15 year old nephew. He was very impressed with the book as it was used. He even questioned me about it. It was in very good shape and he has really enjoyed the book.
A sigh of relief June 24, 2009 This book rather gives what most of its readers have waited for years ever since the first one came out. Not everybody gets to live on, but those characters that we love have happy endings.
A Disgrace to Authors Everywhere June 24, 2009 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
In a creative writing class I took in college my professor posed the question to us: What is the difference between real life and fiction? Fiction has to be believable. Why did I start my review with that memory? Because this book's failure starts with the fact that it isn't believable, even for a fantasy world.
J. K. Rowling also progressed to break so many rules of good literature that I can't even start to name them all. Any editor with an ounce of self-respect would have scrapped the whole book and told her to go back to the drawing board. So how did this book get published? Because it reads like it never saw an editor's eyes.
It was overtly clear in Half Blood Prince that the series had gotten away from her and the conclusion, that was worse than horrible fan fiction, did nothing to disprove that. Having read the first six books in the series once each, I could have written a more believable and literarily acceptable conclusion to the series.
I would have given this pitiful excuse for a book negative stars if I could have.
