This book tells a wonderful story for Christmas for older elementary children. It combines lessons in history, life, and family. The pictures are beautiful and you really feel like a part of the story! It is a wonderful book.

The Year of the perfect Christmas Tree is the most supreme book I've ever read. I think Gloria Houston is the brightest author to write this perfect book.
This book was about a father who was sent out to war and will return on Christmas Eve. The little girl was forlorn because her father hadn't come back yet. So after the play they were having at church the little girls father was standing outside waiting for his little girl. This is the coolest book I've ever read. I like this book because it is about caring, giving, and love. I think that everyone in the world would love to read this awesome book.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It not only captures the attention of a five year old but reminds a parent of what christmas is all about. It beautifully speaks of love,family, sacrifice and community. The illustrations are wondrous and make you feel as though you are there. This is a gather around the fireplace and christmas tree read. Reading this story will make you count your blessings and hug everyone in your family a little tighter this year.
