Great Little Gadget January 8, 2009 Pros: Ultra portable, easy setup and use(Win XP), long battery run time, has enough ram and factory hard drive to run most apps including basic gaming, wifi ready to go
Cons: no optical drive, keyboard and mousepad
Great Buy January 8, 2009 This netbook is great. It's so easy to carry around, and it's a great bargain for students and teachers who may be on a limited budget.
Exceptional Value January 8, 2009 I picked this mini-notebook out for my 16 year old who wanted that would not add to much to the 20 pounds of books he carries to and from school. I chose this Eee over the Acer and others because it is easily upgradable in terms of RAM and harddrive. After I purchased it I also invested ($30) in 2 Gigs of RAM (just in case). I spent a bit of time loading a number of software packages (OpenOffice, Eclipse Software development suite, ....). I was impressed with the speed and capacity, the processor is very capable and for something that you can hold in your hand it was enjoyable to use. It took no time to get used to the small but full keyboard. The wireless function flawlessly, Skype and the built in webcam and speak saves the price of a webcam and headset and is well integrated. The 4 hour battery life is great. There is a VGA port as well and it drives a 19 inch flat panel display, wireless mouse and keyboard at home. I really have no problems with the machine and my son loves it. I highly recommend this product and Amazon delivered in a timely manner.

My daughters computer is messed up. her mouse stopped working. everything else works as far as it coming up but when she tries to click on something the mouse won't work. she has had it since Christmas when she opened it. she is responsible and took good care of it. I am not satisfied with this computer. she uses it for school work and now she can't even use it because of the mouse not working.
Exactly what I wanted. January 7, 2009 I did a lot of research on the netbooks before deciding on the Eee PC 900HA. For the features and price, this looked like the best fit. When I started to use it, I found it was a PERFECT fit for me. I was looking for a laptop to surf the internet and do some light computing while sitting on my couch, in front of the fireplace. It had to be small, light weight, last a long time on a charge and not be a lap heater. PROS: The 900HA is palm size and only weighs a couple of pounds (look up the specs). I almost got the 904HA for the bigger battery, but it is twice as heavy and more than 10% larger and still has the same display size. As for battery life, I have not done an actual run test but I forgot and left it on w/ the lid closed (standby) over night and still had 2.5 hours of battery the next morning. The screen is bright and clear. I have even watched some movies on it (w/o running out of battery or burning up my lap). This should be great for airplane travel. WiFi is good. It easily connected to my network and I end up using Remote Desktop to drive my bigger computer most of the time from the couch - nice.
CONS: This was my Christmas present - the only con I can come up with is that my wife loves it too, so now I have to share it.
