Kind of flimsy January 6, 2009 I purchased this for a male relative who's 9. High marks for looking so real, but it was somewhat disappointing in that it was kind of flimsy, particularly the legs. I was aware from previous reviews that it didn't work well on carpet. Overall, pretty fun toy anyway.
Disappointed January 6, 2009 It is too big and not very realistic. Also very noisy. Not worth the price. It could be easy to break.
Broke within the hour! December 30, 2008 Realistic looking but not sturdy enough for age group. Legs broke off within the hour of opening and installing batteries. Will not run on a carpeted surface on flate tile or straight flooring. Kids where bumbed out.
Spider Fun December 20, 2008 We got the Discovery Exclusive Radio Control Tarantula for my son's 7th birthday. He'd seen it at an aquarium giftshop for over $30, but we got it for less through Amazon. It's been a great deal of fun for him. It's a well-made, durable product and it's easy to setup and use.
Scary Realistic February 22, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this for my husband as one of his Valentine presents. He was delighted, but a little disappointed that it made loud mechanical noises which would give away (as if the red light on top of the spider wouldn't!)that it wasn't real. As other reviewers have said it won't work on a carpeted surface. Very realistic - I hadn't realized I have a slight case of arachnophobia. I could hardly bear to touch it to insert the batteries. Note this product uses 2 AAA in the remote and 2 AA in the spider.
