1 out of 5 stars It's sad when a book like this gets attention...proof that many do not read good literature often...   March 13, 2010

Let me start by saying I am incredibly disappointed by this book! I have noticed that most people that like this series are teenagers or people who have not read much before this series, sadly. If they did, they would know good quality writing. I'm not surprised by my disappointment with her downward writing after Twilight. As the last book of the series and even thicker than the rest it lacked quality.

Nothing really happened as usual. It was predictable the next move she was going to make. I hate predictability. I just really do not enjoy Stephanie Meyer's writing. The only thing I enjoyed about the series that kept me connected was Edward and Bella's connection.

Yet, as like the other books, Meyer builds up for this great fight and NOTHING happens!!! Some parts that she builds up (like the sex "scene") was maybe three lines when it happened. I had to go back and say..."that was it?"

I will say that I liked Jacob more because of this book probably because his role was greater than that of Edward. Edward did pretty much nothing but comfort...boring. Though that is a sad thought because the sole thesis of the series is based on Edward and Bella's relationship.

She puts too much fluff into her books. I knew going into it that these books were meant for teens but after enjoying the first due to their relationship I had to give the rest a shot. Now I'm curious how teens even have the attention span to get through this book.

It was humorous when it shouldn't have been. Let me quote another review that said it perfectly.

"Overall: these are not GOOD books. These are ENTERTAINING books. You will laugh (mostly at things you aren't supposed to), you will knock yourself over the head with them wondering why you are even reading them, then you will keep reading because you cannot stop, they are so cracked out."

I'm not sure how this ended up making it into the movies. Probably because the first book was actually pretty good. Yet, thinking about it...the rest of the movies are guaranteed to be better than these books. For example, there was not one fight in all four of these books. It was not discussed that Edward fought James in the first book. Meyer wouldn't dare involve some action for crying out loud. Yet, the movie showed them fighting, which made the movie better. So maybe the rest of the movies will change things around a bit and allow them to fight.

There are supposed to be sacrifices. It was too happily ever after. Bella gets everything plus some. She build it up for the possibility of casualties and not even a scratch.

Well, I'll leave it at that. It is no wonder it took me so long to finish this book. I feel bad selling the last to for $35.

5 out of 5 stars Best.   March 12, 2010

Okay every says this is a bad book. I have to say that it does feel a little rushed. I got confused with all he things that happen. I think that its great its my favorite Twilight book. It has a difret way of Twilight but i like it. It was great. I feel sad that Benjamin the vampire who controls water, air, earth and fire. He doesn't get much to do i wish he did. The story could have been done better but if you like Twilight or a romance book. This is the book. I love the start how Bella and Edward go on to the island on there honeymoon. Get this book.

3 out of 5 stars Breaking Dawn for youngsters -Teenagers   March 11, 2010
0 out of 4 found this review helpful

I like a good Vampire tale, to be honest with you I am fanatic about Vampire anything. So recently I decided to watch the first 2 movies of the Twilight Series and then read the books of the other two, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Because of all the bashing of Breaking Dawn, I decided to get it at the library(didnt want to waste my money). Breaking Dawn didn't keep my attention as the other books. I found, I kept skipping the pages to get back to stuff about Edward and Bella, which is what I am interested in. The non Bella /Edwards parts of the book , just didnt seem to do much for me. Overall I found the book 4 to be really for Teenagers and found most of it to be really hilarious.

The whole series is for the 14-17 yrs old really, because no adult experience reader could really take this kind of writing seriously. I dont see why an adult reader would bash the book. It really is for the young , weired and naive.

It is not like Ms Meyer is in the class of say a "Angela Knight". Now her books are what movies should be made of!

Anyway stop bashing Breaking Dawn, its not necessary. I am hoping the painful , scary pregnancy and the paranormal birth of the baby chapters, was scary enough to help prevent teenage pregnancy.

I must admit, I was looking so forward to more mature juicy stuff between Edward and Bella since they got married and all and are both Vampires. But alas, only silly , weird, funny crap, that teenagers love. Did I say the book was for Teenagers?
