2 out of 5 stars very fun system / very unreliable system   February 6, 2009

I am on my 3rd xbox, yes, 3rd. And my 3rd xbox just broke today. The first ones were the red rings of death. With this one I put a game in and it says "to play this disc put it in an xbox 360 console". I found out that it's a dvd drive failure. My warranty is up, so that means I either pay the $120 to $Microsoft$ and have them repair it, or throw this thing in the garbage and buy a ps3 some day. I've been wanting blue ray for my hd sony projector anyway. I can't believe a company could legally put out such an expensive product that continuously fails. There is no way I'm getting a 4th xbox 360, mostly because I will have to pay for it this time. The reason I give this 2 stars instead of 1 is because it's the most enjoyable system to me. It has better games and a better online service than the other systems in my opinion, and you can watch netflix on it. So I will truly miss this console, good bye xbox 360.

XBOX 360, as you all know is fantastic. I am very impressed with Microsoft's concept and am only sorry that I had not purchaced one sooner. I had been a dedicated Sony fan and must tell you that XBOX 360 and my recent (1yr) purchase of Windows Vista have me believing in Microsoft ALL THE WAY! BUY USA BUY MICROSOFT!

This review is not to mycrosoft or to the actual seller of this item but to all who leave negative reviews.

To all who dislike the xbox 360 why are you waisting the time writting negative reviews like you got nothing better to do? xbox 360 is the best sistem that microsoft has ever came up with. the ps3 is only a copy of the power that a 360 has came up with. as i recall the play station industry used memorie cards in all their prior models as the regular xbox or "green box" as i like to call it did not. xbox started xbox live and revolutionised online gaming to its ultimate form, ps3 is only a copy of the power of microsoft and will always live under its name. xbox comes with a detachable hard drive meaning you dont only have to have the 20 40 60 80 but as many as you want and if you cant aford a hard drive they do come with the memorie card not as the ps3. the games for xbox 360 are just amazing as in for the ps3 they will never catch up as not many ppl know the blueray in the ps3 makes it extremley hard for game copiers to manufacture ps3 games and most dont even want to bother as for the xbox 360 making there own games and making them easy. the ps3 will not catch up with the xbox. not many ppl liked the green box but its younger brother will make a lasting impression to all who play them.

lets just say microsoft is the best. they own most computer. schools, buisnesses, doctors, everyone uses microsoft and it'll be the same for a verry long time. now price. the xbox made it affordable soo that almost anyone under any income can purchase one. you can have the arcade for [...] the pro with a 20 gig hard drive for [...] or the xbox elite for [...] and the video games r all afordable. the ps3 still has not dropped there price and cannot afford to. this is just a battle the play station company cannot win. soo too all ps lovers hate on the 360 all you want your just mad because it dont get no better then halo 3 and over a million people who use it or have tried it can tell you otherwise. xbox 360 rules!!!

5 out of 5 stars Good deal for the money   January 6, 2009

The kids were very excited to receive an XBox360 for Christmas. Works perfectly. One MAJOR complaint however. Since it had been refurbished, all of the profiles from previous users were still on the computer. And the names of these profiles were very sexually explicit, and not something that my kids at their young ages should have seen. This was very disappointing that it wasn't cleaned off of the computer. We were able to go in and remove them ourselves, so the buyer should have done this before shipping it to us.

1 out of 5 stars 6th xbox console and counting!   January 6, 2009

I admit that the 360 had the best lineup of games. But when every 8-12 months you have to send it in for repairs and fight with customer services to even get it repaired. Well its more of a hassle then its worth. Yes if you get the RROD they will repair it for free, but you get back someone else's 360 that has the same chips and problems that your old one had.. so whats the point? Dont even ask for a refund "thats just not going to happen its not even up for discussion." Excuse me? Free extended warranty Nope nothing. Thats the customer service I've had to deal with. I had a repair supervisor say that I was suppose to turn it off every 30 mins to keep it from over heating thats Inexcusable and only a month ago. I already went through BBB last time and was assured that I would be receiving a new Xbox. Well after buying a 1500 dollar tv to play my new 360 on I plug it up and RROD for the 6th time. DO NOT BUY. If you got lucky and received one that works then fine and good doesnt mean everyone has gotten that lucky. But I myself and at least 4 other people I know have had to return theirs multiple times. My GF works at a shipping place and she has sent off more 360's for repair then she can count. If they fixed the problem it would be no big deal but they dont they just send another faulty system back to you every time. I had my system by itself ontop of the entertainment center in my cold bedroom. Oh and it can scratches disks too BTW, and no I dont move my console while its on or with a game in it. Never ever had it vertical. Never have owned a PS3 ether but thats about to change I feel. Wish I never bought this thing, and there's no way to get my money back. If you do buy a 360 (which I strongly advise against) get an extended warranty and make sure it resets when you send your system in. I was told that only paid repairs have a yr warranty. If you send yours in for repair while its under warranty when you get it back that 1yr warranty drops to 3months this is a new policy that shocked me. Unless you pay for the repair ofcourse. Is that even legal? Be wary when purchasing the 360.
